UCLA INVITES SUBLIMINAL ADVERTISING
EXPERT TO SPEAK AT KERCKHOFF HALL
ABOUT THE GUEST:
August Bullock is an attorney and former law professor who has been involved in the subliminal controversy since the late 1970s. He is an experienced professional speaker who has appeared on many radio and television shows across the country. The author of a controversial "underground" textbook entitled, The Secret Sales Pitch: An Overview of Subliminal Advertising (2004), he often teaches seminars to members of the advertising community explaining how to use subliminal techniques. He is the creator of Subliminal Sex T-shirts ™, which endow the wearer with mysterious powers and which were once the best selling item in Macy's department stores.		 Although advertisers deny creating them, many people are familiar with the idea that advertising contains subliminal messages—optical illusions and secret meanings perceived only by your unconscious mind.

In his new book, The Secret Sales Pitch: an Overview of Subliminal Advertising, attorney August Bullock presents an ironclad case for their existence and effectiveness. He weaves together ads that contain subliminal techniques with studies of perception that reveal how subliminals influence behavior. The Secret Sales Pitch is a highly acclaimed handbook that is both a shocking expose and a fascinating “how-to” manual.
