BALTIMORE MD. (02/22/05) Baltimores own Dr. Minshall, an
active member of the World Affairs Council, is one of the leading
experts on the culture, history and current events of Haiti. The
author will be lecturing and signing his newly released book Ring
of Angels at the Enoch Pratt Library and Books-A-Million in
mid March (details below).
This is Britts second book. The author truncates his four-month
trip to Haiti into five days of non stop action, adventure, sex
and drama. Other than the names being changed, Ring of Angels
is a true accounting of Dr. Minshalls experiences. He tells
of the suffering and plight of the impoverished Haitian people from
his own personal experiences (and those of his companions), as a
frequent visitor to the troubled country.
While in Haiti the author enters the forbidden territory of teenage
sex workers. The poverty is so overwhelming, fathers turnout their
very young daughters to the streets and brothels merely to put food
on the table for their families. This almost fictional tale accompanies
Christian missionaries to the poorest nation in the hemisphere where
some fall to lusting encounters with the very people they came to
save.
The Ring of Angels is formed by masses of starving children living
in the jungle villages and on the teeming streets of Haiti. Dr.
Minshall is committed to the noble cause of making the world a better
place. It is within this pledge that the author wrote Ring
of Angels, in order to tell a tale that is indeed larger than
anyones imagination and the accomplishments made in overcoming
the challenges faced by the impoverished Haitians.
