MIAMI FL. (12/02/04) Dr. Minshall is one of the leading experts
on the culture, history and current events of Haiti. He will be
lecturing and signing his newly released book Ring of Angels
at the Barnes and Nobles in the Miami Fort Lauderdale area (details
below).
Ring of Angels is Britts second book. He tells
of the suffering and plight of the impoverished Haitian people from
his personal experiences as a frequent visitor to the troubled country.
The author truncates a four-month trip to Haiti into four days of
non stop action, adventure, sex and drama. Other than the names
being changed, Ring Of Angels is a true accounting of
Dr. Minshalls experiences.
It was during one of his missionary trips that the author witnessed,
first hand, a foiled assignation attempt on President Aristide life
by Colombian drug lords collaborating with foreign governments
secret police. Upon his return to the US Dr. Minshall visited the
US State Department to discuss the incident, only to be interrupted
by several powerful, major Haitian business people making the deal
to oust President Aristide. The policies set forth by foreign
governments towards what was a democratic Haiti were never about
the country developing into self-sufficiency and becoming a sovereign
nation says the author. It is much darker than that.
Dr. Minshall can no longer safely visit Haiti for fear of reprisals
in the current political climate. His missionary trips have been
temporarily suspended until the violence, carnage and random execution
and jailing of opposition voices subsides. The author tells the
whole Haitian story and much more in his fascinating new book Ring
Of Angels.
