I was born in '58 - the last of 4 kids. I started painting hand-painted signs when I was about 16 - so I suppose I've always had a fascination with fonts and letters -- I think they're all interesting and fun. I went to the Corcoran Gallery of Art for 2 years of fine art training out of high school, then transferred to USF in Florida and finalized my degree with a B.S. in Marketing. I thank my parents every day for this -- seems I got the best of both worlds in my education ... art and marketing.

I opened Metrographics in 1986 - after a year with Hargett Graphics learning the ins and outs of the horrible reality of deadlines and adrenalin rushes. That was it for me! Metrographics was, of course, the finest graphics studio in Clearwater until I sold it in 1998. Since then, I have continued to work from my home in Safety Harbor, where I live with my husband, dog (R.I.P. Binky), 4 cats, Pete (my cockatiel - you'll hear him on the phone) 11 ducks (just donated 16 more to Chi Chi's Golf Course and Wildlife Sanctuary), 2 chickens, a rooster and 10 loppy-eared bunnies. Yep -- you may call me Ellie May. I have a gazillion artwork, paste-up and darkroom jobs under my belt, and have been blessed with wonderful clients over the years.

I have loving and supportive parents -- both still living and healthy, thank God. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1999 - WOW! I (finally) married a wonderful, giving and hard working man, Jimmy, and have fantastic family and friends rounding out my life. I host a karaoke show every Monday at New York New York in Clearwater, which gives me a chance to get outta this chair. I LOVE music!! I have a huge flag hanging on my deck, magnetic flags and stickers on my car and van. So don't be lettin' me hear you say anything raunchy about the good 'ole USA -- I'm a patriot at heart!!
